Thank You Hydra Fab

Hi Tim & Charlotte ! I just wanted to say Thank You to you both for all your help with my rig over the past 2 years. You'll never know how much it means to have such great people (and friends) stand behind your product the way you do! It is so refreshing to deal with folks that truly care about there customers long after the sale!!! God willing I will get this in and be overjoyed to call it complete!!!

I'm enclosing a few pictures that I thought you might enjoy of me playing with Donny & Marie Osmond in Vegas.....

Hydra Fab Rigs work "GREAT"

Subject: X-1000 Drilling rig

Date: Mar 3, 2014 5:57 AM

Hello Tim.

The items you said you were sending, did in fact arrive last week.

I will be going back to the farm this week, to drill the first well. I did set up the rig, and ran a "test" bore to 50', to get the feel of the machine ; and to see if there were any concerns or issues I would need to discuss with you before proceeding with complete bore.

The machine performed absolutely great. There is certainly enough power to have been able to bore at a faster rate of feed, but experience in drilling previous wells, has taught me to get a consistent and straight bore, not to over feed. Listen to engines ( both rig and pump ) for steady cadence, and watch the flow and feed for a steady pace.

While I realize if drilling through rock, pilot and step ream boring is required, my site had only sand stone and clay in the 50' bore. The torque of the unit, and great design of the bit you provided, made for easy and consistent boring.

I was concerned at first, that having only 5' sections of drill stem instead of 8' or 10' sections, would be a nuisance in terms of speed. Turns out I find it to be just opposite. The shorter stems are so much easier to handle by one person, and therefore add or remove, that there is no time loss at all in the overall drilling.

Yes, drilling is muddy. And yes, one needs to keep things lubricated and bolts retightened due to vibration and harmonics. But that is normal of any rig, and just part of the process. I expect ease of maintenance though with your rig, due to it's robust and well engineered construction.

Will give you a report when finished with first well ; 150' .

Thanks again for your excellent customer support and well built equipment.

We purchased a hydra fab well drilling rig 2012. I talked with Tim several times on the phone and even went to Phenix City to see the rigs. Tim assured me that the rig would drill 300 feet even through limestone. It even said on their website it would drill 300 feet (they have since removed that). We are only about 100 miles from Phenix City, so the drilling conditions are very similar in Phenix City to where I am in GA. I purchased a rig and went to pick it up. They sold me extentions and additional bits.

I began drilling and had trouble with it ever since. I had to keep working on the rig trying to make it drill the 300 feet I needed for a well. Tim even called me LAZY and said I did not put in enough effort to drill. I kept trying to contact Tim, but could not get an answer. I left multiple messages and did not have any calls returned.

Tim lies about how deep it will drill and the product is not a quality product.

Dear Mr. Mtega,

Thank you for contacting me concerning Hydrafab.

We have known Tim and Charlotte King at Hydrafab since 2011 when we bought our first two gravity-fed rigs from them to start our work in Malawi. Since that time we drilled over 130 wells and wore those two machines out. In July last year, we purchased our first KD2600 trailer-mounted hydraulic rig and placed it in service in October of 2013. Since that time we have drilled 5 wells and have been satisfied with the rig’s performance. Our challenge is to training our Malawian personnel on how to use the rig properly to achieve the best performance.

We are thoroughly satisfied with our relationship with Tim and Charlotte to the point that we have not gone anywhere else to purchase our drilling rigs. We are currently in the process of shipping another rig as I write this email and have two more on order. The best thing I can say about them is that they are very responsive to our needs and have cheerfully worked with us to configure our rigs to our specifications (we made some design modifications to the trailer so that it would airship more easily). We relied on their advice is selecting the right rig, and what they told us proved true. In the end, Tim and Charlotte deliver what they promise.

Regarding rig durability, we fully expect our KD2600 to perform as well as, if not better than, our original gravity-fed rigs. The biggest issue we see is training our operators to correctly assess the type of soil they are drilling in and use the right drill bit. This would be true of any rig. Using the right drill bit for the conditions found will go a long way in making sure the rig performs well. We also opted to upgrade our mud pump to the heavy duty version Charlotte offers and this has already proved to be a wise decision.

Hydrafab has all the parts we need and have designed the rigs with standard fittings and threads to be able to use parts (i.e. drilling rods, drill bits, etc.) we find locally in Malawi. For anything that is unique or difficult to find locally, we have ordered extra and Charlotte ships them with the rig in the custom crate they build.

One final piece of advice I would encourage you to consider relates to your method of shipping. We opted to air ship our rigs to Malawi even though this method is a little more expensive than ocean going container shipping. Our reason was that shipping ocean going would take upwards of 60 days and the closest and cheapest port to Lilongwe, Malawi is Durban, SA. Once there, we would then have to incur additional expense, time, and risk to truck the rig through 3 or 4 countries. With air shipping, we go directly from the U.S. into Lilongwe. The people at Hydrafab have really supported this decision and built custom shipping crates and worked with our shipper to do this.

Well, as you can see, we are satisfied with the products and service Hydrafab provides us. We trust them to do what they say they will and they work with us to make sure we are able to complete our mission of drilling borehole wells in Malawi.

If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to ask

Sincerely,

Bill
